Colonoscopy is an instrumental method of examining the inner surface of the colon using an optical device – a colonoscope. Colonoscopy is a modern and accurate diagnostic method that allows to detect malignant and benign neoplasms of the rectum and colon, nonspecific inflammatory diseases (ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease), as well as congenital anomalies of the large intestine. This examination provides sufficient information about the intestinal tone and its peristalsis (ability to contract). This diagnostic method allows not only to assess the condition of the intestinal mucosa, but also to make, if necessary, a targeted biopsy from a suspicious area.

Advantages
St. Paraskeva Medical Center uses high-tech endoscopic video systems FUJIFILM ELUXEO 7000 and 700 series endoscopes of the latest generation. The advantages of this equipment are the ability to enhance and differentiate endoscopic images: 4-LED illumination technology, LCI and BLI image enhancement modes, as well as Zoom.
All this makes endoscopic examinations not only comfortable and safe for patients, but also allows to detect the smallest pathologies, including threatening precancerous changes and early forms of cancer.
The Department of Endoscopy at St. Paraskeva Medical Center ranks first in Ukraine in terms of technical equipment and diagnostic capabilities.
