Roman Shyyan
After completing an oncology internship at the Lviv Cancer Center, from 1997 to 1998 he studied for a master's degree at the Department of Oncology at Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University, defended his master's thesis on "Results of adjuvant chemotherapy of colorectal cancer".
In 1998-2001, he studied at the postgraduate program of the Danylo Halytsky Lviv National Medical University.
In 2002, he specialized in oncological surgery.
In 2002-2004, he worked as an oncologist at the 1st City Clinical Hospital and the 4th City Clinical Hospital in Lviv.
Since 2004, he has been working as an oncological surgeon at the Proctology Department of the Lviv State Cancer Regional Treatment and Diagnostic Center. 2014 - last certification in the specialty "Oncological Surgery", first category.
Member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) since 2009.
In 2001-2009, he was a participant in a project to develop consensus guidelines for the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer (BC) for countries with limited resources, co-chair of the BC expert panel at consensus conferences in Washington (2005) and Budapest (2007), and co-author of consensus statements.
In 2002, he completed a six-month internship at the Department of General Surgery at the Mayo Clinic (Rochester, Minnesota, USA).
In 2006, he completed an oncological surgery internship at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (New York, USA).
In 2012-2013, he completed a clinical residency in oncological surgery at the Department of Surgery at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (New York, USA).
